Requiem for a dream (2000)

The number one reason what makes this movie so damn special is its cinematography and score. It is no doubt one of the most edgy and powerful to the context of the theme of the movie. The movie is about 4 people who are addicted to some sort of drugs and how the addiction ultimately destroys their lives all in all. The cinematography is so powerful that at one point you might feel that the addiction is in you and its growing and you want the movie to end so badly that you can just get rid of it and get back your life. I have never seeing a movie this strong that eats right in to your veins without a needle.

 

Then the acting and the plot gladly follows it. There are some very dramatic performances by the main casts and well detailed make up works that boosts the mood tenfold. Every scene that unfolds has its own style and the ability to haunt you. It is the Aronofsky style directing that is unique and stylish. This movie will put you to a deep concentration starting very slow and ending with the most mind boggling manner. Do not miss it.

මේ චිත්‍රපටිය අතිශයින්ම විශේෂ වන මුලිකම සාධක දෙකනම් සිනමාකරණය සහ පසුබිම් සංගීතයයි. ඒවා චිත්‍රපටියෙහි තේමාවට ඉතා තදින් බලපාන සහ ප්‍රබල බව සැක රහිතව ප්‍රකාශ කල හැකිය. මේ චිත්‍රපටියට පසුබිම් වන්නේ කිසියම් හෝ මත් ද්‍රව්‍යයකට ඇබ්බැහි වූ පුද්ගලයින් 4 දෙනෙකු සහ ඒ ඇබ්බැහිය මගින් ඔවුන්ගේ ජීවිත වෙත පැමිණෙන නොයෙක් දුක් කම්කටොලු සහ අබාග්‍යයන්. එයට සිනමාකරණයෙන් ලැබෙන පිටිවහල කෙතරම් ප්‍රබලද කිවහොත් මොහොතකදී ප්‍රේක්ෂකයාට එම ඇබ්බැහිය තමන්ගේම එකක් ලෙස දැනෙන්නට පටන් ගනී. එතැන් පටන් ඔබට අවශ්‍යය වන්නේ හැකි තරම් ඉක්මනින් මේ චිත්‍රපටිය ගෙවා දමා නැවතත් පියවි ලොවට පැමිනිමටය්. මෙතරම් ප්‍රබල මත ද්‍රව්‍යය තේමාවක් රැගත් චිත්‍රපටියක් මගේ මතකයට නැගෙන්නේ නැහැ. එය ඉඳි කටුවක් නොමැතිවම ඔබේ නහර වලට කා වැදෙය්.

 

ඉන් පසු රංගනය සහ කතාන්දරය ඔබව සලිත කිරීමට පටන් ගනී. ප්‍රධාන නළු නිලියන් සියල්ලෝම ප්‍රෂන්ශනීය රංගනයක යෙදෙන අතර අංග රචනයන්ද එයට නොදෙවනිව පවතී. ඒවායින් චිත්‍රපටියෙහි ප්‍රබලත්වය තවත් දස ගුණයකින් වැඩි කෙරෙයි. සියලුම ජවනිකාවන් යම් කිසි මොහොතක ප්‍රේක්ෂකයාගේ සිත තුල හොල්මන් කිරීම අරඹය්. එය එය අරෝනොෆ්ස්කි චිත්‍රපටි අධ්‍යක්ෂණයේ අකණ්ඩ ලක්ෂණයකි. සෙමෙන් ඇරඹි සිත සසල කරමින් නිමවෙන මේ චිත්‍රපටිය මග නොහැරිය යුතු එකකි.
