You don’t need better reason to watch this movie other than Richard Gere is in it. But there are many bonuses you get with it. A fine thriller to keep you pondering of the next events that unfold and a drama and a character study that allows sitting back and arguing at the back of your mind. Within a good half an hour this movie builds a strong case to work on and a detailed character that runs it.

 

Success as many says it mostly to do with hard work. But when success is achieved it boils down to appearance for its sustainability. Gere portrays a business tycoon who appears to be at the peak of its success story but underneath the story is quite the opposite. But he still plays his cards so well that maybe he gets away from things with many may not. And portraying that character requires charm, talent and personality which Gere puts in lavishly. Along with the smooth yet accurate phase Arbitrage is an excellent thriller that would grasp the viewer tight. And it leaves with some hope intact.

 

රිචර්ඩ් ගියර් ගේ රංගන දායකත්වය පමණක් මේ චිත්‍රපටිය සාර්ථක වීමට මුලික හේතුවකි. එයට අමතරව හොඳින් ගෙතුණු ත්‍රාසය මුසු වුනු බවත්, නාට්‍යමය හුරුවත් සහ සංකීර්ණ ප්‍රධාන චරිතයත් එක කල විට මෙහි ගුණය තවත් කිහිප ගුණයකින් වැඩි වෙයි. චිත්‍රපටිය ආරම්භ වී පැය භාගයක් ඇතුලත එය සීග්‍රයෙන් මුලික අරමුණු කරා ලඟා වී ප්‍රබල දිසාවකට කතාව රැගෙන යයි.

 

මෙහි ප්‍රධාන චරිතය වන්නේ 60 වයසැති ඉතා සාර්ථක ව්‍යාපාරිකයකු සහ ධන කුවේරයෙක්. ඔහු පෙනුමෙන් තම ජීවිතයේ බොහෝ ජයග්‍රහණ අත් කරගත් එමෙන්ම තම ධනයේ අග තැන්පත් අයෙක්. කෙසේ වෙතත් ඇතුලතින් ඔහුගේ කතාව බොහෝ සෙයින් වෙනස් වන අතර තම ධන බංකොලොත් භාවය වසා ගැනීමට ඔහු නීති විරෝධී ගනු දෙනුවක පැටලී සිටි. මේ චරිතය ඉතා සංකීර්ණ එකකි. එය රිචර්ඩ් විසින් බොහෝ සංයමයෙන් සහ නිපුණත්වයෙන් යුතුව රඟපානු ලබය්. එම රංගනයත් කතාවේ ඇති රසයක් එක කල විට හොඳින් ප්‍රේක්ෂකයා ග්‍රහණය කර ගැනීමට හැකි චිත්‍රපටියක් බව කිව යුතුම වෙයි. ජීවිතයේ සාර්ථකභාවය ගොඩ නැගෙන්නේ මහන්සි වී වැඩ කිරීම මතය. නමුත් සාර්ථකත්වය රඳාපවතින්නේ එය කෙතෙක් ලොවට දෘශ්යාමාන වනවාද යන්න මතය.
