The Help (2011)

The world is a dynamic place. Some of it is for the good and some for the bad. Treating people differently for the color of their skin is one of those bad things. Out of many movies that spark controversy about colored racism, The Help is a strong one. And it has tear jerking moments and sound cast and acting written all over it. There is no better word to explain it than ‘inspiring’.

 

Already made its place in the Oscars the year it was released this movie has got large recognition which it deserves. But the theme and the era it speaks of have endless value that cannot be just turned down. And it is the state of human mind which want to control others and ignoring the side of the controlled. The Help is about the life, feelings and voice of such set of people who are controlled that they thought that they can never be heard. Good cinematic value and touching script make The Help a movie that can be enjoyed and remembered.

ලෝකය විවිධාකාරය්. එය විටෙක හොඳටත් තවත් විටෙක නරකටත් සිටි. මිනිසුන්ගේ සමේ වර්ණය නිසා ඔවුනට වෙනස් අයුරකින් සැලකීම ඒ විවිදත්වයේ අඳුරු පැති කඩකි. කළු සුදු භේධය ගැන කියවෙන චිත්‍රපටි අතුරින් The Help විශේෂ වන්නේ එහි කතාවත්, විශිෂ්ඨ රංගය කුසලතාවයනුත් එක් කල විටය්. එතුලින් ප්‍රේක්ෂකයාට සමාජයේ අප්‍රියජනක ස්වරුපය ගැන අවබෝධයක් ඇති කරයි.

 

වසර 1960 ගණන් වල ඇමෙරිකාවේ සුදු ජාතිකයින්ගේ නිවාස වල බල මෙහෙවර කරන කළු ජාතික කාන්තාවන් සහ ඔවුන් අත් විඳින මානසික පීඩාවන් මෙහි කතා තෙමාවය්. කිසිදු ලෙසකින් ලිංගිකත්වය හා නොබැඳෙන මේ චිත්‍රපටිය හුදෙක් මිනිසුන් වශයෙන් අනෙකා පරයා තම ආධිපත්‍යය පැතිරුවීමේ විෂම ආශාව ඔස්සේම දිවෙය්. එමෙන්ම එම ආධිපත්‍යට යටත් වන මිනිසුන් කොට්ටාශයේ හඬ නැසෙන තරම් එකක් වුවත් ඔවුන්ගේ ජීවිතයේ කටුක බව සහ නිදහස් වීමේ බොළඳ නමුත් සුන්දර සිහිනය ඔවුන් සියල්ලන්ටම පොදුය. හොඳ අධ්‍යක්ෂණයක් සහ සිනමාකරණයත් සමගින් එන The Help ඇසට කඳුලක් උනවන මතකයේ රැඳෙන හොඳ චිත්‍රපටියක්.
