Safe House (2012)

Loudly thinking I feel like ‘if’ there was an Oscar
for action thriller, this movie should win it. It’s that much intense,
suspenseful and gripping. But don’t get me wrong the formula of the plot is
tested many times before. And it’s quite predictable if you carefully follow it
from the start. And there are ample plot holes too. But what matters is the execution. Once it starts with a
blazing cast and lightning fast flow, Safe House will not let you take you a
breath with normal rhythm till it ends. It has all the actions you need
starting from super hand to hand combat to wall shattering bullet exchanges and
tire ripping car chases. And Denzel comes out glorious either he plays the good
side or the dark side.
මෙය මින් පසු මගේ ක්‍රියාදාම චිත්‍රපටි ගොන්නේ ඉහලින්ම වැජබෙන
චිත්‍රපටියක් වනු නියතය්. පටන් ගත් මොහොතේ පටන් හුස්මක් නෑර උන් හිටි තැන් අමතකවෙන
ක්‍රියාදාම සහ ත්‍රාසයන්ගෙන් මේ චිත්‍රපටිය දිග හැරෙනවා. මින් පෙර දැක පුරුදු
කතාවක් උවත් ඉතා විශිෂ්ට ඉන්දමින් ගලා යන මෙය හොඳ රංගන දායකත්වයකින්ද යුක්තය්. Borne

Whatever the genre of the movie, I believe that good
movies have only one common genre. That is life, experience and being human.
There are ample science fictions which the common genre has forgotten and label
them as just Sci Fi. But ‘Eva’ is one of those rare movies which speak about
life, experience and humanity through a tale of science. That indeed is what
makes this movie so special and remarkable. Once you dive in to the plot and
the movie experience you will ultimately forget that you’re watching a Sci Fi
though there are so many untrue to common life things takes place. But this
flick finds a comfortable common ground between fantasy and reality.
චිත්‍රපටයක් මොන ප්‍රභේධයකට අයත් උනත් එය හොඳ චිත්‍රපටියක්නම්
එහි ඇත්තේ එක වර්ගයකි. එනම් ජීවිතය, වින්දනය සහ මනුස්සකමය්. බොහොමයක් විද්‍යා ප්‍රභන්ධ
නිකම්ම නිකන් විජ්ජා වෙද්දී මේ සිනමා කෘතිය අර එක හොඳ ප්‍රභේධයට අයත් වෙනවා. එය
කෙතරම්ම ලස්සනද කිවහොත් ටික වෙලාවකින් ඔබට මෙය විද්‍යා ප්‍රබන්ධයක්‌ බවට අමතක
වේවි. ඉතාම සුන්දර එමෙන්ම ලයාන්විත කාව්‍යයක් වැනි නිර්මාණයක්. මා මෑතකදී දුටු
විද්‍යාව තුලින් මනුස්සකම කියන සිනමා කෘතියක්.

John Carter (2012)
Action | Adventure | Fantasy
John Carter is the name for a gigantic movie effort and a thumping
amount of investment going all a waste. Simply fantastic concept work and
animation makes this movie an eye pleaser. But that alone is no sufficient to
keep the modern movie fan satisfied. The plot has a lot of potential but it struggles
to strike a balance between reality and fantasy. And ultimately falls down like
a colossus tree after eaten from the inside. Don’t get me wrong! This movie is
entertaining. But only good to see when your mind is empty and you want to fill
it with some awesome visual effects.
වසරේ සහ සිනමා ඉතිහාසයේ දැවැන්තම නිර්මාණයක් වුනත් මටනම් මෙය ඉහලින් කැටයම්
දැමු නමුත් හිස් බඳුනක් වගේ. එමෙන්ම යතාර්ථය සහ
මනස්කල්පිතය අතර පොදු බිමක් සෙවීමට ගොස් අතරමන් වුනු කතාවක්. පරිගණක
විජ්ජා සහ අතිශය ත්‍රාසය දනවන ජවනිකා වලින් පිරි ඇති මේ චිත්‍රපටය එතනින් එහාට
යමක් ඔබට පිරිනමන්නට අපොහොසත් වීම ඛේදනීය කරුණක්. විනෝද වීම සඳහා පමණක් බැලීම
නුවනට හුරුය්.

Brake (2012)
Crime| Thriller
A very good thriller and an entertainer until they decide to ruin it
at the end. Though it has an insane relativity to ‘Buried’ (which was a much
awesome movie than this of course) there
is still a bit more to the plot and the itch to hang on to it. At one point you
might actually think if the movie is playing a mind game and mind game reveals
its ugliness at a crucial moment. Overall this is an entertainer. But could
have being better.
නිතර දකින සිනමා මනස්ගාත වලින් ඔබ්බට ගිය නැවුම් ආරක චිත්‍රපටියක්. මුල
සිටම ප්‍රේක්ෂකයාට සිතන්නට ඉඩ සලසන ගතියක් තිබෙනවා. හොඳ උච්චත්වයක් තිබුනත් අන්තිම
මොහොතේදී එය නැති වී යන බවක් හැඟෙන නිසා මුළු චිත්‍රපටියම සාර්තකයය් කිව නොහැකියි.
නමුත් අලස නොවී බලන්නට පුළුවන්.

I may explain this flick to be quite Sexy and glamorous yet strong and
profound in every aspect. It takes you to a different era of south Indian
cinema and explore the cinema industry and its shrewd approach towards the
commoner via using the sexual element. The objective material in this case is
the semi erotic actress Silk and the movie swiftly explore her story from rise
to glory and fall. Coming from Bollywood this indeed is a surprising plot and
makes wonders while presenting it. Maybe even reveal the true nature of desire
for stardom and the ill minds that criticize it. At the end leaves you with a
question of being right or wrong and which mindset you will choose to cover up
your flaws.

අනුන්ගේ රෙදි ගැලවෙනවිට ඔල්වරසන් දී කෑ ගසන මිනිස්සුන්ගේ පව් සේදීමට ඇයට ජීවිතයෙන්
වන්දි ගෙවීමට සිදු වෙයය් ඇය කිසි දා නොසිතන්නට ඇත. වින්ද්යාගේ විශිෂ්ට රංගනය මුසු විශේෂ ඉන්දීය සිනමාවකට උරුමකම් කියන හොඳ චිත්‍රපටයක්.

Get the Gringo (2012)

Mel Gibson is back in the action game and he is
awesome. And this reminds of the good old Ransom days. This flick starts with a
high speed pursuit with blazing dust and desert heat and ends with the same and
more action with a mix of blazing glory for a thief and a convict. The
wonderful plot and the witty script add the spices to the dish while Gibson
cooks it well with his performance. Maybe the best action flick I saw in recent
times. Get ready to get shot in the eye through the shades!
මෙල් ගිබ්සන් කියන්නේ අපිට ක්‍රියාදාම සිනමාවේ බොහොම හොඳට මතක
චරිතයක්. නමුත් ටික කාලයක් ඔහු එයින් මිදිලා ගොඩක්ම නාට්‍යමය හුරුවක් සහිත චිත්‍රපට
වල යෙදී සිටිය. නමුත් මෙන්න ඔහු නැවත ක්‍රියාදාම චිත්‍රපටියකට ඇවිල්ල. ඒ චිත්‍රපටයත්
එසේ මෙසේ එකක් නෙමය්. මේක ඇත්තටම මුල ඉඳල අග වෙනකම් එක දිගට බලන්න පුළුවන් හොඳ
චිත්‍රපටියක්. මෙල් මෙහි රඟපාන චරිතයනම් ඇත්තෙන්ම අපුරුය්. බැලුවට කමක් නෑ කරලා
බලන්න එහෙම හිතන්නවත් එපා! හැබය් ඉතින් හිරේ ගියත් යන්න ඕනේ මේ වගේ හිර ගෙදරකට තමය්.

Man On the Ledge (2012)

An at a glance promising plot , quite a number of thrilling
sequences and a set of famous actors in this but still a bad movie can never
become good with all that jazz. Starts well off in the first half and this deteriorates
its qualities way fast than its climb to glory and ends like an empty vessel. There
is no possible way this plot can be pulled out without humiliating itself. And
I thought Tower Heist was stupid. Wait till you see this!
මම මෙතුවක් කල් හිතාගෙන
හිටියේ හින්දි ෆිල්ම් තමා හොලිවූඩ් වලින් කොපි කරන්නේ කියල. නමුත් මේ චිත්‍රපටියනම්
අනිවාර්යයෙන්ම හින්දි එකකින් කොපි කරපු එකක් ! බලාගෙන ඉඳිද්දී පච වැවෙන අමුතුම
විජ්ජා ගසක කිව්වොත් වඩාත් හරි. ලස්සනට කුතුහලයෙන් යුතුව පටන් අරගෙන ඉක්මනටම තවත්
එක අතාත්වික සිනමා බොරුවක් වෙලා මෙය අවසන්
වෙනවා. බලපු වෙලාව ආපහු ගන්න ඇත්නම් කියල හිතෙනවා.

Yet again Vidya Balan shows her merciless acting skills and
Indian cinema makes a mark with a different plot which says to be influenced by
true incidences. End to end entertaining cinema though the last 20 mts could
have being made with a better punch. Yet the whole movie is a worthy watch at
times well relates to the styles of western movies. Builds a strong case against
the injustice and the money hungry degrading society that bows in the face of
power.

Surprisingly well crafted with tongue twisting Shakespearean
English, this flick is one joyful event to witness. Yet no surprises as it’s the
modern day cinematic adaptation of Shakespeare’s play in the same name. Very
powerful and astounding performance by Ralph Fiennes moves the play from one
level to another. The feeling is no less than viewing a stage play with such
powerful performances and emotions.
