Rampart is a story about a dirty cop who is dying a slow painful end of self destruction. With each move with the intention of clearing up an earlier mess, he engulf deeper in to the darkness and the point of no return. While he gamble with his family and job to keep his dirty game going he almost loses his sanity but time will tell for certain. A powerful performance by Woody and good script work.

 

ජීවිතය අසම්මත පුරුදු සහ දුෂණ වලින් පුරවාගත් පොලිස් නිලධාරියෙක් වටා ගෙතුන තරමක් සිත සසල කරවන සුළු කතාවක්. මෙවැනි කතා මා මිට පෙර කිහිපයක් දැක තිබුනත් මෙහි ගැබ් වුන රඟපෑම සහ බස හැසිරුවිම නිසා මෙය යම් වෙනස් නැවුම් අත්දැකීමක් බවට කිව යුතුය්. අතිශය නාට්‍යමය හුරුවක් සහිත මේ චිත්‍රපටය බොහෝ දෙනෙකුට ජීර්ණය නොවිය හැකි. තමන්ගේ රසය තමන්ට විශ්වාසනම් පමණක් බලන්න.

Ultimately his soul lies empty while his life fills up with fame, money and all other things anyone will desire for. The story beautifully crafts his character and the noise around him with his legally bound complicated music career while silently peeps in to his empty heart. This movie is so touching and beautiful; you will feel the beating hearts of lovers and cry of loss amidst all the joy the surface painted with. With mesmerizing cinematography and soul binding score with lyrics to die for, this movie will engulf you.

 

මෙතරම් ආදරය කල හැකි හින්දි චිත්‍රපටියක් මා මෑත කාලයේදී දුටු බවට‍ මට මතක නැහැ. ජීවිතයේ පැතූ වර්ණවත් සිහින සැබෑ වෙද්දී, හදවතේ හිස් බව පුරවා ගැනීමට නොහැකිව අනෙක වාරයක් සිතින් මිය යන දක්ෂ රොක් සංගීතකරුවෙක් වටා මේ අනුවේදනීය කතාව ගෙතෙනවා. හදවතේ සියුම් මස් පිඩු සැනින් ස්පර්ශ කරන රහුමාන්ගේ ලයාන්විත සංගීතයෙන් මේ චිත්‍රපටය පිරි ඉතිරිලා යනවා. ඒ සංගීතයටත් රන්බීර් කපුර්ගේ රංගනයටත් නාර්ගිස් ෆ්හක්රිගේ සුන්දර ස්පර්ශයටත් ඔබව සිනමාවගේ නැවුම් කෝණයක් වෙත කැඳවාගෙන යන්නට දෙන්න. ඒ ඉස්සවුවේ දෝර ගලායන ආදරය සහ තනිකම ඔබට දැනේවි. විශිෂ්ට සිනමාවේ සැබෑ අරුත එයය්.

Burning Man (2011)

Good movies and plots are all about making feelings. When the movie is over what’s left is that feeling and depends on the job done they will remain in the viewers minds for a longer or shorter periods of time. I believe The Burning Man is one of those movies which create lasting feelings. Not because it’s just another story of loss and sorry but because it’s too natural not to forget and ignore. Starts with who seems to be a happy young man with a weightless life the plot evolves dramatically unrevealing twist over twists until you will breakdown with the characters. Masterful storytelling makes it look like a mixed up dinner party but once you get the hang of it you will expect it not to become simple like the other movies. This one is definitely ending in my movie collection.

 

චිත්‍රපටියක පිටපත පුංචි පුංචි කෑලි වලට කපල, ඒ කෑලි ටික බෝතලයකට දාල හොඳට හොල්ලල කලවම් කරලා, එකින් එක එලියට අරගෙන ඒ පිළිවෙලට චිත්‍රපටිය නිෂ්පාදනය කලාවත්දෝ කියල හිතෙනවා මේක බැලුවම. මෙහි කතාව ගැලපීම එතරම්ම සංකීර්ණය් නමුත් ඇත්තෙන්ම සුන්දරය්. අපි ලෝකයේ වැඩියෙන්ම ආදරය කරන කෙනෙකුගේ අකාලයේ නික්ම යෑම සමග අපිට ජීවිතයේ වෙනස් කරගන්න සිදුවෙන දේවලුත්, එසේ වෙනක් නොකළ හැකි දේවලුත් අතර තිබෙන පරස්පර ගැටුම මේ අපුරු නිර්මාණයෙන් ඉතා විශිෂ්ට ලෙස පැහැදිලි වෙනවා. අපි කොතරම් ශක්තිමත් උනත් යම් දවසක සමහර සත්‍යයන් ඉදිරියේ අපි බොහොම දුර්වල වෙන බවත්, ඒ දුර්වල කම නැවත ශක්තියක් බවට හැරවීමේ සම්පුර්ණ හැකියාව ඇත්තේ අප තුලම බවත් තව දුවටත් පැහැදිලි වෙනවා. අනිවාර්යයෙන් බලන්න!

I know I know that fact that Bollywood doesn’t really know the boundary between reality and fantasy. Whatever goes inside someone’s head can come to life in real in a form of a dance in the middle of the streets! But I bet my dime that this flick is bit of that but lot of jaw dropping extra fuel as well. And finally we have a real super undercover agent from India, Vinod. If you crave for action and secret service related plot and at the same time can digest some bollywood masala, then you cannot possibly miss this one. It’s a little long but it just does the job right. And I must say the sound track is pretty cool as well. Not only the songs but the background score is awesome. Kicking as starting from Trincomalee Sri Lanka to somewhere deep in Russia Vinod is some dude. And now I cannot get the ‘Pungi’ tune off my head!

 

ක්‍රියාදාම චිත්‍රපට ගැන කතා කරනකොට ඉන්දීය සිනෙමාව බටහිර සිනමාව සමග සැසඳීම තරමක් අපහසු උනත් මේ චිත්‍රපටය ගැනනම් කියන්න තියෙන්නේ ‘ඇට්ටි හැලෙන ඇක්ෂන්’ ටි‍ක කියල තමය්. අඩු වැඩිය පුරවන්න පච ටිකක් එහෙං හෙමෙන් තිබ්බට කතාවත් ගොඩක් හොඳය්. කතාව ඉතා සිත ගන්න ආකාරයට ගලාගෙන යනවා මුල ඉඳල අන්තිම වෙනකම්ම. හරියට අලුතෙන් සර්විස් කරපු එන්ජිමක් වගේ. ඉන්දිය සිනමාව අගය කරනවානම් , ත්‍රාසය සහ ක්‍රියාදාම වලට කැමතිනම්, සයිෆ් ගේ වැඩ කෑලි බලාගන්න ඕනෙනං මෙන්න කියාපු පැය දෙකහමාර!

One of those movies which make you re think the whole movie from end to end and crave to watch it again in order to get your theory correct. Partly sci fic and party mysterious if this does not blow your mind away I’d say that you’re a zombie. Yet to be honest I had to read a several explanation articles in order to become crystal clear of what real went down in the plot. Freaks me out!

 

මනස කලම්බල කර කරලා දාන්න හැකි චිත්‍රපටියක් මේක. අනිවාර්යයෙන්ම දෙවතාවක් බලන්න පුළුවන්. එක පාරක් පල් මෝඩයෙක් වගේ, දෙවෙනි පාර උගත් ප්‍රේක්ෂකයෙක් වගේ. කොහොම බැලුවත් අන්තිමට ඇඟ හිරිවැටෙන බව විතරක් හොඳට මතක තියාගන්න. මෙලෝ දෙයක් තේරුනේ නැත්නම් මට බැන බැන ඉන්නේ නැතුව මේක කියවන්න

Ladies will definitely love this for two reasons. Romance and Tantum! For me it was a story about appreciating good things and forgetting the little things that make gloomy days. And no matter what if you love someone or something for real the universe will make room for you. This flick is definitely a heart warmer. Lovers do not miss it. You will lose a big part of love if so.
