Chloe (2009)

For the simple fact of curiosity and mildly steaming skin show this film will keep you glued to it. You will want to know what’s going to happen next and what moves the characters will take until one big twist hits you on the head hard and say ‘Hay wake up’. I favor the plot, acting, glamour except the fact that the unpredictable situation miraculously solving itself at the end. Kindly ‘Bollywoodish’ for that matter.

2.9/5

Million Dollar Baby (2004)

Drama | Sport

When you say that a movie is beautiful, most of time what comes straightly to your mind can be a romantic movie filled lovely people and a happy ending. But in a very strange way this hardcore dramatic boxing flick redefine the beautiful movie perception. It speaks of determination, courage, and the sweet taste of conquering dreams and the most hurtful bitterness of defeat. Yet all this mixed up so well that once you finish it you will know that you have watched one of the greatest movies you will ever see while you’re alive. Gracias to Clint Eastwood and Hilary Swank for their creativity and for working the miracle.

Synopsis: A hardened trainer/manager works with a determined woman in her attempt to establish herself as a boxer.

Apollo 18 (2011)

This is like the Blair Witch Project. The difference is that it takes place on the moon. Totally Shot with shaking cameras and first person views. There is something creepy out there and the characters in the movie don’t know it. And sure hell we don’t either. There is some bumping around in the low gravity environment and rocket language filled with strange acronyms like ‘R2D2’ which no one can understand. Overall it sure is a science fiction which speaks of creatures on the moon other than a rabbits. Just watch it if you fancy space stuff. But totally avoid it if you fancy horrors and thrillers.

My advice is watch “Moon” (2009) 3 times instead.

Synopsis: Decades-old found footage from NASA's abandoned Apollo 18 mission, where two American astronauts were sent on a secret expedition, reveals the reason the U.S. has never returned to the moon.

5 Centimeters per Second (2007)

Animation | Drama | Romance

This film made me fall in love with anime all over again. I mean it! I can swear to god that this carries the most amazing and best 2d animation quality ever. Period!! I want to watch this again and just pause at each scene to see how spectacular they are. This flick is filled with start to end magically breathtaking animation quality.
Plot wise it’s subtle and deep. With wonderful script and simple score this will remain forever in my heart.

My score 4/5

Their relationship is tested when Akari moves to another city because of her parents' jobs. Both of them struggle to keep their friendship alive, as time and distance slowly pulls them apart. When Takaki finds out that he is moving further away, he decides to visit Akari one last time.

Dhobi Ghat (Mumbai Diaries) (2010)

Genre: Drama

To tell you the truth I had mixed feeling of this movie when I started watching it because most of the user reviews I have read beforehand were negative. Some have stated that it is a disaster. Yet I believed in Aamir Khan and his stubbornness and watched the film. And when the movie ended I was disappointed and angry, but not with the movie but at all the crappy users who did all negative reviews of it.

What do you expect of a good movie? Not dancing on the streets or fairy tales endings but stories about day to day human beings with true feelings. Believe me this is one of those rare Hindi movies which does that immensely well. Breathtaking cinematography combined with wonderfully natural acting and a script that screams a millions words just by saying so little. This is a keeper and I will watch this again and again when I grow older and older.

My Score 4.5/5

Synopsis: The lives of four people intersect in Mumbai: a washer-man who wants to become an actor, a banker-turned-photographer, a painter looking for inspiration, and a newly-married immigrant who journals her experiences on home video.
