GET HIM TO THE GREEK (2010)

Get him to the Greek – 2010
My rating – 3/5

There is something about Jonah Hill. From being the stupid ambitious under aged college dude from Super Bad in 2007 and up to the ‘Take him to the Greek’ he has done some pretty hilarious roles. He is not funny as Jim Carrey or Adam Sandler but there is something about that fat totally out of shape guy!
So let’s get to the movie shall we?

There is a totally out of control, stubborn, drug addict rock star from UK named Aldous who was once in the top of his career but recently not so doing good after his critically exploded insanely racist album. And then there is a low paid, out of shape employee named Aaron who works in a record company who is looking for a big break. So the ends meet. Record company decides to do a 10 year anniversary show for Aldous and Aaron is the guy who will bring him from UK to the Greek theater in LV. What happens from there is up to you to see.

The language and the humor used in the movie are very very crude and rude. And then Aaron gets drunk a few times and vomits a dozen times. So visually it’s a little sticky as well. However the story keeps evolving in to a stage where everything in the showbiz starts to fade away and the real values of life or expectations of every normal human being starts to emerge. Friendship and love with a mix of cocktails for example.

There is nothing so unique about ‘Take him to the Greek’. There can be many other comedies which will make you laugh your guts out for sure. But this movie will keep you seated in one place and make you enjoy some nice visuals and some good rock music with insanely adult lyrics. Sometime you might wonder that’s where the music industry is really moving towards.
