THE GREEN HORNET (2011)

The Green Hornet (2011)
Genre: Action, Comedy,

Director: Michel Gondry
Writers: Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg,
Stars: Seth Rogen, Jay Chou and Christoph Waltz

My score 3/5

Super hero millionaires are quite a usual site for us who live on this planet. Tony Stark who owns the Stark Industries and an iron suit known as Iron Man is a good example. Go a bit further you will meet Bruce Wayne who owns the Wayne Industries and wears the black rubber mask and goes by the nick name Bat Man.
But ‘Green Hornet’ is someone different even though he owns a millionaire business empire and some cool gadgets.

He is just a regular guy who thought acting a vigilante is cool but actually no body without his side kick!!
His name is Britt Reid and one morning all of a sudden he finds out that his father died leaving his millionaire news paper business, which puts a load of weight and attention on his shoulders. Not knowing where to start his new life while trying to be responsible he meets his father’s coffee maker and helper Kato. Impressed by Kato’s martial art abilities and discovering few secrets of his father’s garage, Britt jumps in to unexpected trouble which ends in their favor and putting them all over the news by next day. However masked and unidentified by the public and with a little boost given intentionally using their own news paper, they start to call themselves as Green Hornet and his sidekick. Soon they start to jam up the city streets and fighting various crime gangs making the real bad ass crime load Chudnofsky a very unhappy man.

What’s interesting about ‘Green Hornet’ is that it’s not a serious movie. Something of the Kiss Ass nature it just keep on delivering unrealistic stunts, gadgets and action sequences over and over just for the plain viewing pleasure. Filled with funny dialogues and internal rivalry between Britt and Kato over the hot and sexy newly appointed secretary Lenore Case ‘Green Hornet’ is fun to watch. Even the blood thirsty villain character is unique and will make you funny over all. Sometimes you might actually feel sorry for his because no one seems to be seeing him as a threat or bad enough!!

Apart from the breathtaking load of vintage and modern super cars on Britt’s father garage, the movie offers few some real cool action sequences. Towards the end of the movie the action become tense (As usual) and more cars starts to find its path to the grave either by exploding, run over or shot.

I don’t want to question anything right now (but) what I really don’t get is if Kato has some superhero ability after all or is it just that’s how he is. And even seems like Britt gets a bit of it at the end and I’m a little confused. ….errr… any way this is a cool and funny movie with lot of explosions and guns fired which ends with a room for a sequel. Nothing really extraordinary. Watch it and forget it.
